Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) // Reporting Emergency Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants (REPOL)
REPOL is a web-based enterprise application that provides real-time daily reporting capabilities for emergency energy logistics transactions that occur at military bases around the world. REPOL supports more than 2,000 active accounts worldwide, with the majority assigned to logistics planners in the Central Command’s (CENTCOM) area of responsibility (AOR). It is used 20 out of every 24 hours, seven days a week and has become the combatant command’s (COCOM’s) single most vital tool for reporting their wartime fuel status in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraq Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Unified Protector. PioneerTech developed REPOL as the most optimal and cost-effective internet application solution based on existing REPOL databases. Throughout the life cycle PioneerTech used a DevOps approach which included:
- Merging our development and operations teams into a single team allowing them to work across the entire application life cycle, from development and test to deployment to operations. This facilitated a faster release time while minimizing latent errors.
- Tightly integrating our quality assurance and security teams with development and operations throughout the application life cycle thereby decreasing mistakes and defects during development.
- Employing automated processes to work processes that historically have been manual, thereby helping DLA to operate and evolve applications quickly and reliably.
