Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) // LOGCOP – NextGen
NextGen is an enterprise portal used by DLA and non-DLA agencies to develop and share geospatial assets, create 2D/3D maps, and perform analytics using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Using cloud technology solutions, we provided DLA with the functionality for planners to stand-up mission-centric operational dashboards within hours of an event that is specific to their event. It also allows DLA and non-DLA agencies to share webMap, webApp, and 2D/3D visualizations within the cloud environment.
Our Team worked with the DLA Microsoft Azure team to build the staging cloud space environment for NextGen before it was deployed into the actual cloud. It was designed as Platform as a Service (PaaS) within DLA’s Azure environment and enterprise GIS Software as a Service (SaaS) using ArcGIS technologies.
PioneerTech has also prepared the NextGen solution to be accessible through the cloud, SaaS, and PaaS, and mobile ready guarded by a demilitarized zone (DMZ) and a Virtual Private Network (VPN). The NextGen application was also prepared to be mobile ready so it could be deployed within a private cloud, private mobile hotspot, or a private wireless network. This mobile-ready solution supports all major Bring-Your-Own-Devices (BYOD) such as PC, tablet, laptop, or PDA as long as they are on DLA devices or have private access.
